• Emergency Medicine Department is the face of the Hospital where every minute counts. It is the first point of contact for any critically ill patient, requiring
• immediate medical attention.
• The department is well-equipped to deal with Emergencies.
• The department is a Level II Trauma Care Centre.
• The patients are Triaged and managed accordingly.
• There are 40 beds in total with 10 in the Green zone including Triage,10 in the yellow zone,10 in the Red zone and 10 ICU beds.

Service Provided: All Emergency Medical Services are provided including

• Management of Cardiac Emergencies including STEMI-THROMBOLYSIS
• Management of Neurological Emergencies including SCRIPT-ACUTE CVA THROMBOLYSIS
• Management of Polytrauma – NK48 FOR GENERAL PUBLIC
• Poisonings
• Burns
• Pediatric Emergencies

Tamil Nadu Government has converted the erstwhile casualty into Emergency Department in all Medical College and Our College has Post graduate – M.D Emergency Medicine Residents since 2022-23 batch with intake of 5 seats/year.
